Rustic Table Setting.

Recently me and my partner supplied log slices for table settings and centre pieces for a wedding and it has inspired me to get a bit creative with the abundance of wood we have access too. It is amazing how beautiful wood can be and how many simple uses it has, I love the natural rustic look and have decided to use the log slices as place mats for our christmas table decoration. The wood mixed with a red table cloth, hessian, copper accents and candles gives a natural yet festive touch to the table. This is my current table layout using a simple printed table runner and some left over pumpkins displayed in the centre of the table it looks so autumnal and homely.

Watch this space as you may see a few of my own rustic creations including clocks and candle holders.

Homeware Wish List.

You may notice a theme in my home-ware wish list, I can currently crushing over the industrial rustic trend especially for the living areas. Unfinished wood, copper and metal accessories add great texture to a room and these are a few of my favourites right now.

A few of my favourite pieces are the wire post wrack which I found on ebay which I am in desperate need for to keep the dreaded bills organised! Also this stag head from Wilkinsons is an absolute bargain at only £8 and would make a great decoration for Christmas or all year round. Lastly this copper framed mirror with shelf from next would look perfect in my bathroom and I absolutely love the shape with its rounded corners.

What do you think of this trend? Thank you for reading.

Whats In My Make Up Bag - Hen Weekend Edition.

I am very much looking forward to my best friends hen do this weekend, we have lots of exciting things planned with will be revealed soon but for now I thought I'd share with you what make up I will be taking with me. We are going away just for one night and have packed my make up bag with two looks in mind, one more neutral look for the day time and something a bit more dramatic for the evening.

The make up bag itself is just an old one that I picked up from Primark a while back and the first and biggest thing inside is my new Box o Blushes set by Benefit. This gives me a variety of blush shades and finishes all in one tin, I can throw this in without worrying and have lots to pick from once in there. It also comes with a brush and highlighter so its a very handy little set to have.

For base I went for the trusty Benefit Porefessional Primer and luckily I had this tiny same size which is perfect for a night away. I had to take my favourite foundation and concealer combination with which the Maybelline Better Skin foundation and the Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer. The foundation gives a lovely skin like natural finish without being too dewy and the concealer is perfect for brightening around the eyes. To set it all and give a soft focus look is the Bourjois Healthy Balance powder which is so compact and great for travel and will help my make up stay in place all day and get rid of any shine.

For eyeshadow I limited myself to one palette and it had to be my Naked3 I just couldn't live without it. I can create a lovely day time look using the matt shades and for the evening a dramatic rose toned smokey eye with the shimmery darker shades.

Eyes are probably my fullest category as I am taking quite a few options! My Barry M Showgirl mascara for a fluttery natural day time eye look combined with a more subtle brown Rimmel eyeliner. For evening lashings of Rimmel Lash Accelerator Endless and Magnifibres to give a false lash effect with non of the hassle, L'Oreal Super Slim Liner to create that sexy catflick and a kohl pencil to smoke it out under the eye.

Lastly lips....I really had to put myself on a tight rein otherwise I would ended up taking my whole collection with me! The options I went for was a natural day time wash of colour taking my Clinique Chubby stick in Super Strawberry then for the evening gave myself 4 bold lip options two plum colours one being Mac Craving and a Rimmel Apocalips in Meteoric Matt and two reds which are Maybellines Colour Drama lip pencil in Light It Up and another Rimmel Apocalips in Burning Lava.

To some this may seem excessive but its a very special occasion and is going to be a very girly day so a substantial stash is needed!

L'Oreal Super Liner Perfect Slim....There Is Hope For Me Yet!

I am shockingly rubbish at eyeliner to the point where it just scares me.....it ends up uneven, wayyyy too thick and don't even get me started on my thousands of failed attempts at a cat flick! I have tried all sorts too gel liner, liquid liner and several different felt tips and I genuinely think this is the best and easiest for a noob like me that I have tried so far.

The L'Oreal Super Liner Perfect Slim has a long thin and quite flexible nib which makes creating a very fine line super easy. The nib is very wet and projects the perfect amount of product which gives you a lovely dark black line without having to go over it. It lasts very well and you do not get any transfer on to the eyelids....I may even attempt a cat flick It gives me hope I may finally get it right!

L'Oreal Collection Exclusive Eva's Nude.

I've wanted to try this L'Oreal nude collection for a while in particular Cheryl's Nude which I had heard was a great dupe for mac patisserie. Each nude shade is represented by and suited to the skin tone of a certain celebrity which as an idea seems really good, its a way of helping you find your perfect nude lipstick. They actually now do a set of red lipsticks with the same concept which I am dying to try but I have so many red lipsticks right now I opted for the nude instead.

Now I haven't been able to find Cheryl's Nude for love nor money....have they stopped selling it? and after a bit of swatching I decided to go for Eva's Nude. Now I wish I had stuck to the concept as Eva Longoria and I are like chalk and cheese when it comes to complexion but the peachy nude really appealed to me but as it turns out doesn't really suit me! The colour is sheer which means its quite a subtle wash of colour and is quite balmy in texture which is a little disappointing and not what I was expecting from a lipstick. But the one thing that really stands out it the smell.....a strong synthetic plasticy smell which is very reminiscent of playdough, not something I really want to be smelling all day!

Not something I see myself getting very much use out of, I hope that the red collection doesn't have the same downfalls!

October Favourites.

This maybe a few days late but I was determined to get this post up as I think I may have missed last months favourites due to our house move so this has been well overdue!

So lets get straight into it.....I seem to have quite a lot of make up favourites this month and no skincare what so ever! Thats mainly because my skincare collection is looking a bit sparse right now, my routine has been less then good recently and I am in dire need to restock my stash.

My first favourite has been this Naked 2 Basics eyeshadow palette I have been wearing it non stop all month! I love the mid toned neutral matt colours which make great everyday shades, they create a subtle but really sophisticated eye look and my most used have been Stark, Frisk and Cover.

The next product is quite a recent purchase but I am already in love....its a Christmas gift set by Benefit called Cheeky Sweet Spot Box o Blushes.....and it is just that a box of their best selling blushers! Not only is this amazing value for money but it also is a great way to try out lots of different shades giving your blush-stash a boost of variety! You can see my full review here.

I have been very impressed with the new Barry M Showgirl Extra Lengthening Mascara it gives such a pretty natural look to your lashes whilst adding length a great day to day product for those like me who prefer a more subtle look.

I have had a bit of a Autumn lip obsession right now which resulted in a haul of lip products and these two have been my favourites so far. The Maybelline Colour Drama Velvet Lip Pencil in 'Light It Up' is the most perfect pillar box bold red lip, its so easy to use the colour is spot on and it lasts for hours....what more could you want. Another new lip launch is the Rimmel Apocalips Lip Velvets, a liquid lipsick of sorts which can be a little messy but the result is worth it and this beautiful autumnal plum colour called 'Meteoric Matte' is just perfect.

Other favourite this month include my little display of pumpkins we picked at a local farm that have taken pride of place on my dining room table, it really gives a lovely autumn harvest feel to the home. Another favourite is our home itself, we have been in for nearly 4 weeks and I just love how the decor is coming together all our furnishings and accessories make the house look so homely. Snuggling up on the sofa under a blanket, candles lit, cup of tea and Netflix on = the perfect evening, and recently we have really god into watching American Horror Story and watched the whole first season over halloween....I cant wait to start on series 2!

What are your October favourites?
